“Cut-Rate” is about the art of collage and the collaboration process that my daughter Brena Collins and I used to produce the artwork for this book. With school going online at the start of the coronavirus disease pandemic in spring of 2020, we took advantage of our additional time at home to work together and learn in a new way. This project has allowed us to bond, make memories, and document an extraordinary time in our country's history.
