Über das Buch
"Rusinga Island" is a photographic insight into the daily lives and history of the Luo people who live there. Taken over the last multiple years it chronicles the humanity and struggles of the rural people who live at the edge of the largest lake in Africa. They were observed with my camera and my heart and I offer the viewer my vision of the people and their homes and lives in “dala” Rusinga.

Artist and teacher, grandmother of six, I live part time in Los Angeles and part time in Kenya. I have been photographing Kenya for the last 20 plus years and am in the process of building an eco-tourism lodge on my favorite island, Rusinga. Kenya is a beautiful land and its people are even more beautiful. I aim to chronicle that special beauty with my photographs and books and to encourage tourism to my favorite place.
