Über das Buch
I first came to Alabama to work for the McDowell Environmental Center as a seasonal educator. I enjoyed my experience so much that I returned for a second season. It was during my time here that I discovered the wonder and beauty of the Bankhead National Forest. With more than 1000 acres of land along Clear Creek, Camp McDowell is more than just a retreat for the Episcopal Diocese or and educational facility for regional schools. The camp protects a habitat for thousands of species of plants and animals, including a handful of rare and endangered species. Evidence has even been found suggesting the property was once an ancient sacred Native American site. The canyons, waterfalls, plants, animals, and history are all what make Camp McDowell a special and magical place.
This book contains a portfolio of 38 of my best photographs taken on Camp McDowell's property during the Fall of 2005 and Spring of 2006.
