Über das Buch
This edition is not a regular edition. It is the anniversary issue of the JUTURNA magazine. Five years of JUTURNA with the 20th edition.
What would be better than dedicating this issue to this topic. 30 artists from all over the world with 170 artworks on 192 pages about the "male blossom" have contributed to the realization of this phallic bible in the style of an old floristry book.
Many works of art had not been published before and were specially designed for this edition.
The cover of this issue in watercolor designed by the Brazilian artist Alberto Escobar is also a new interpretation of the hand-colored copper plate titled "Large, hundred petal light roses" published by Sibylla Maria Merian in 1679 in her work "The wonderful transformation of the caterpillars, and strange flower food" and was specially designed for this edition.
“Blossoms don't have to be pretty. They are. Because there are so many different shapes and colors, every blossom is a luminary in itself.
Often referred to as the smile of the earth, a blossom is just as special in its own way as a smile and thus manages to captivate the individual viewer. Because even if a blossom may appear inconspicuous at first glance, a closer look reveals its complex charm.
Every single blossom is different and has its own beauty.
Each and every one of these different blooms is a marvel.”
