Über das Buch
This book is dedicated to those who lived their lives in the past, yet may have been forgotten. Some faces in this book may not have received a look in a hundred years or more - until you look at them today.
Some lived short lives, others reached longevity. They were someone’s grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, aunt, uncle, brother, sister, or child. All of them meant enough to their families to have their appearance be remembered on their tombstone.
Back in the day, sitting for a photo may have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You can tell how much this meant to the people of the past by looking at the way they look in these photos - they are in their finest clothing, their hair looks perfect, and they are often posing in an expensive photographer’s studio.
It’s also fascinating to watch how styles change over the decades - clothing trends, hairstyles, and facial hair length all vary dramatically in these photos.
This book is dedicated to the people of the past - with great respect for the lives they lived.
