When released from the clutches of high-school for the week of Thanksgiving, Grace is burdened with the task of writing a short essay on family. The closest thing she has to family after her previous life as a runaway is her mentor, Drake. But he doesn't really count. Does he? He only adopted her as his daughter after they started working together as the crime-fighting duo Solo and FireFinch. When Drake mysteriously has to leave on a mission alone, Grace stows away, convinced her superpowers to control fire and heat can help. Unfortunately, Grace's presence on their trans-continental mission to track down a dangerous element, only attracts a formidable enemy, now desperate to take her out for good. What surprises Grace most isn't the terrorists, but the allies, who turn this mission into the strangest family reunion yet!
