Zarathustra, this book and the character who is its subject (and almost its eponymous title), this book is a strange story. Humanly, intellectually, psychologically, it was a difficult time. An accumulation of upheavals, a maelstrom of emotions that, in the end, made me as much the subject of this book as the intended subject, this psychotic Zarathustra. For three days, I was his double, his double in madness. My preface to the book attempts to get to the bottom of this. The text doesn't do it. Perhaps only photos can.
