The photographs are meant to be visually complex and tangled, as a mirror of the tangled nature in the area. Just so you don't think I was trying to be all clarity and light, and merely failing.

He was also the classical music critic, the dance critic, the opera critic, the architecture critic and the backup movie critic. He has written for every section of the newspaper except the Business section. He has been a photographer for more than 40 years. Now retired, he lives in the Blue Ridge.
