Über das Buch
Jane Elliott is a retired American school teacher, in the late 1960’s she said that ‘Regardless of whether I voice these thoughts or even acknowledge thinking them, as a White person, I have been raised with a myth of White superiority’.
During an experiment in the late1960’s Jane Elliott took a documentary film crew into her school to film her third-grade students. She presented some questionable experiments in her teaching practices to examine how harmful the myth of White superiority is and what, as a result of this myth; it meant to be Black in America.
The following portraits by Peter Yankowski are of his family, friends, neighbours and acquaintances from Oldham and Greater Manchester in the uk, he was inspired to make the images after he watched Jane Elliott’s documentary ‘A Class Divided’
