This book is a fundraising project, with all profits going to benefit Namibian libraries.

I visited Namibia in August, 2009, where my daughter was researching libraries as her PhD project at Syracuse University. She studies how libraries can serve current needs of local people.



The libraries we visited had enthusiastic patrons and excellent programs, but are severely under-funded. One local library's science book collection consisted of about 20 books.



The Namibian government is currently building a few new library centers. Their funds are so limited that they are debating whether to build shelves or buy books.



That's why I'm raising funds through the sale of my book, Land of Namibia. Even a small amount of money will make a big difference to the people of Namibia.
