Über das Buch
You can be taught to use the technology of photography but you must learn to see on your own.
I’ve been lucky, I think. I’ve always “seen” things. Juxtapositions. Angles. Shadows. Patterns. Shapes. Perhaps it’s an inborn instinct. The hard part is to capture what I see. There’s rarely a second chance.
Sometimes it’s a function of shooting a lot and looking for the pictures later. Sometimes things just leap out at you. Most often the best photographs are spontaneous. Rarely does the premeditated have any soul.
This collection is made up primarily of images from 2004-2006, though I've included a couple of oldies from the late 60s and early 70s because I believe they show a continuity of vision and style.
This is a revision and expansion of the original volume titled "Realities".

Über den Autor
Joe Kozlowski
Tucson, AZ, USA
I started shooting seriously in the 1960s as a freelance photographer in San Francisco. Then I stopped shooting seriously and started shooting for myself. For what it's worth, I was born in Upstate New York. I was schooled at Syracuse University and Shimer College but I don't think my schooling got in the way of my education. I've lived and worked in Chicago, San Francisco, Cleveland, Grand Rapids (MI), The Poconos and the Metropolitan NY areas. Now I live and work in southern Arizona.
