Über das Buch
The inspiration for this book came while on a second assignment in China in 2009 to produce a broadcast documentary of a Sino-American musical exchange tour that would cover four provinces and three of China’s largest municipalities. As I encountered people and got acquainted with them, I photographed them at every opportunity. I was as fascinated by them as they were by me. My experience with the Chinese people found them to be open with and very receptive to Westerners.
The pictures in this book represent the way I experienced the people of China in 2009. It is plain and simply a book about people. Each one depicts an individual life being lived and whole life stories could be told about each one.
