Über das Buch
An account of the lives of three families originally photographed on an Indian reserve in northern Quebec, Canada in 1972: I revisited the photographs in 2007-2008, wrote an interpretive text, and this book grew out of that intimate encounter.
Primarily an image book, it introduces this work for the first time in 35 years! I am looking for several authors -- a cultural anthropologist and an indigenous person from the region -- to write essays for a longer book project. For more information, please contact me at sressler@purdue.edu. Thank you.
Postscript: Since the archival portfolio version of this work was released by Box Set Gallery, Santa Fe, in 2007, the portfolio and original negatives have been acquired by the Library Archives of Canada.
For more information, please contact Box Set Gallery/Rush Creek Editions at 505/982/8293 or info@boxsetgallery.com.
