Über das Buch
In Visiting Hours, Rob Dobi explores and documents the realms of an abandoned mental asylum in southern New England. Using only the light that trickles through the dusty windows of the long-forgotten institution, he captures vividly the lives that once filled its winding corridors and magnificent auditoriums. Having fallen into a state of neglect, the campus sprawls with opportunities for Dobi to help interpret its stories through photography.
Shot during the early hours of dawn, Dobi’s photos are stunningly beautiful in their simplicity and seem to echo with the immense amount of history the hospital has to offer to those who seek it. Visiting Hours is a culmination of six years of photography and truly exemplifies the beauty that can be found in that which has been left behind.
Visiting Hours is available as a large format landscape book and features 96 full color photographs.

I've been drawing since I was four, now it is my job. I work primarily within the music industry and have illustrated books in the past for Harper Collins and Hyperion. Other clients include Fall Out Boy, Urban Outfitters, Hot Topic, Sony, Atlantic Records and more. More books to come soon, including several profiling my photographic work of the abandoned northeast.
