Über den Autor
Barbra Darwin Burr was born in La Jolla, California into a Navy family. She was 11 when her family moved back to Massachusetts. She could now at last spend all summer and many fall and winter days at the family cottage, a small wooden shack built by her grandfather Hans and his brother Peter. Being sons of Swiss immigrants, they built the cottage simple but strong. The Darwin cottage is part of the last seasonal community on Buzzard's Bay. After hurricane Bob in 1991, the cottage was knocked off its foundation and today sits atop fifteen foot pilings allowing a sweeping view of Buzzard's Bay and the surrounding lands. It's not surprising Barbie retreated to the shore for personal reflection. What is surprising is that she did it in February. Barbie and her husband Toby have two grown children.
