Friend



I awoke this morning,

To a quiet snow,

I took a look out a frosted window.



There they are,

The neighbor kids,

Their mittens on,

Their sleds a-tow.



They have made a man of,

The quiet snow.

Soon he will melt,



That man of snow.



I awoke this morning,

To a long-gone spring snow.

I took a glance out a sun filled window.



The neighbor kids,

Their packs a-tow,

With not even a reminder,

Of the man of snow.
