For ten years, Michael Scott has been photographing scenes of dereliction throughout Europe. From industrial factories to military bunkers, all places that are off limits but no longer in use.



Large industrial institutions that once housed thousands of employees now stand eerily quiet, waiting for the inevitable, the property developer or the demolition crew. Instead of just walking by, Michael Scott went beyond the fence to capture an architectural history that for a small window of time, stood empty, but full of life.



The history to each site is as important as the images themselves. Sometimes families of many generations have worked in these areas, some have lived in them, and some have even died in them.



Not only is there a comprehensive look at places in the United Kingdom but also from Central Europe including Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Poland & The Czech Republic.
