Über das Buch
Agustin I Venero was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1966. He was diagnosed with Down's syndrome immediately after birth. After a few medical challenges in his early infancy, he had very good health through childhood and adolescence. Several very special teachers made signifcant contributions to Gugi, educating him to put people first at all costs, to be patient, to work hard, to always be neat and organized. He's always painted. His first remarkable tempera was sent home from school when he was 8 or 10, sun flowers in a tall vase, arranged in a perfectly balanced design. But he really started to work hard after graduation from high school, and really found his stride after his early job placements didn't work out and he found himself home full time. His daily output is amazing, wide ranging topics, always bright, cheerful and witty.
But, the only thing more important than art to Gugi is people. He senses people's stress, sadness, worry, and rushes to reassure and comfort. His intuitive contribution to the well being of those around him can be astonishing.
Today, he does have a part time job he loves, in the studio of a prominent Miami artist. He probably couldn't work in any other kind of work. Art is the most important job there is as far as knows. He loves being there and helping with some basic tasks; he loves the environment.
He loves to travel, museums, music, animals. And loves a party.
He attends a local art show every year and usually sells well.
His art reflects his openness to the world.
In assembling this book, his parents hope others can see the world he lives in. And feel sustained by his work.
