Über das Buch
Jack is a story set in the outback of Australia in the 1800's.
It tells of the Hopetoun family and their life and struggles in the harsh Australian outback. Frank, the father, is a miner searching for gold, scratching a minimal living from the unyielding soil. He is certain that one day he will find enough gold to set his family up for life. Lorraine, the mother, holds her family together with fierce love and devotion, her faith a strong ally.
Jack, together with his older sister Penny and younger brother Anthony, do their best to help their mother in her task, but life is not always kind to them all.
A bitter sweet tale where love for family and dogged determination prevail. Does the family succeed, or is it doomed to fail and wither in the harsh conditions?
