Seven days are not enough for discovering all the riches of Romania's Saxon heritage, but I would certainly recommend exploring Transylvania on foot, as I did in May 2013 - walking between the villages, with their wonderful fortified churches, along tracks through the forest and valleys rich with wild flowers. My book offers a description mainly in photographs, including portraits of some of the Saxon and Gypsy people I met along the way.
