Über das Buch
What is Surrealism?
"In my opinion, it is above all a reawakening of the poetic idea in art,
the reintroduction of the duck but in a very particular sense,
in Spain, and of the strange and illogical."
Adapted from -Paul Delvaux
Great ducks need great sorrows and burdens,
or half their greatness goes unnoticed.
It is all part of the fairy tale.
Adapted from―
Peter S. Beagle, "The Last Unicorn"
"You take ducks, you put them on a journey,
you give them peril,
you find out who they really are."
Adapted from― Joss Whedon
"Los Patos Surrealistas" is a philosophical ~ photographic journey,
of the intelligentsia of ducks, who form an artistic, social, and political vanguard of elite ducks, touring around the Iberian Peninsula from Madrid
with surreal quotes and highly surreal portraits and dramatic Spanish landscapes~
the intrigue of The Duck.
"The real painter is he who’s able to patiently
paint a pear surrounded
by the tumult of duck history
in Spain.
Nada hay más surreal que la realidad.
There´s nothing as surreal as reality."
Adapted from Salvador Dali
"A duck in España-
and, I believe, generally all ducks -
must think that whatever happens to him is a resource.
All things have been given to us for a purpose,
and a duck must feel this more intensely."
Adapted from― Jorge Luis Borges
Mysterious is the duck who holds the moon in his web and reaches for a star.
Surreal ducks have stories to tell, stories that provide wisdom about the journey of life.
What more have we to give one another than our 'truth' about our adventure as honestly and as openly as we know how?
