To the Front is my two -volume collection of my favorite Civil War battlefield photos taken largely during my five years working for the Civil War Trust. During my time at the Trust I was fortunate to have the opportunity to visit most of major battlefields and many of the smaller ones as well. As one with a passion for photography, I was always so impressed with the physical beauty of these places that witnessed so much carnage. I hope that the images in these two volumes will help to not only spur your own visits to these places, but will also increase your desire to ensure that this hallowed ground remains preserved for posterity.
