In the Northern Lake District - England - is Davidson Park, the home of Keswick Rugby Football Club (KRFC). It is set in a wonderful location with views of fells like Barrow, Cat Bells and Skiddaw. The first trial game in Keswick took place in Fitz Park on October 11th 1879.

Since William Webb Ellis reputedly in 1823 caught and ran with the ball during a game of association football at Rugby School, Warwickshire, rugby has grown into a huge global sport. Despite the anecdotal nature of the sport's origin, the Rugby World Cup trophy is named after him.

Rugby union, often referred to simply as rugby, is a full contact team sport. It is based on running with the ball in hand. In its most common form a game is between two teams of 15 players using an oval-shaped  ball  on a field with
H-shaped goalposts on each goal line.

The Keswick Rugby Football Club has a 1st XV in the Cumbria/North Lancashire League, a 2nd XV who, play in the Cumbria Shield League. An occasional Veterans/Social XV plays just for fun and there are mini and junior teams. The Keswick Rugby Football Club has also a public bar and a patio.
