Über das Buch
"Dennis The Cape Cod Manatee" is packed with 120 photos taken over four (4) days in early October, 2008, when Cape Cod was visited by a very special marine mammal. A manatee, named Dennis after the Town of Dennis which the animal adopted as a northern home, appeared in Sesuit Harbor on October 1, 2008, then returned there on October 8th, and stayed until a rescue effort was launched on October 11, 2008. The book features rare photos of Dennis lifting his head high out of the water to drink from a freshwater hose, and covers the rescue efforts extensively. A unique record of a historic visit from a warm water marine mammal who ventured a long way from his usual habitat in the waters off Florida and Georgia. The book includes fun facts about manatees, and describes key features of Dennis' visit to Cape Cod. A wonderful gift for kids, and anyone who appreciates nature and the beautiful place called Cape Cod.
