Über das Buch
This is an unreliable memoir of my father's (Bob Cooke) yellow tractor which he used on my parents' (Bob and Sheila) 28 acre free range poultry farm called "Shangri-la", located 3 miles to the west of a small town called Manilla, New South Wales, Australia. This was in the late 1950s, the tractor was hand cranked, started on petrol and switched to kerosene once warmed up.
Time and artistic licence have played with reality but the underlying story is true to my unreliable memories.
This story has been written for my grandchildren, Amy and Liam, who live in Germany hence the smattering of German in the text. This is a "boys book" so no imaginary dragons and frilly pink dresses!

Armidale, NSW, Australia
My main focus over the last few years has been photographing the many and varied landscapes and urban environments of the Northern Tablelands of NSW, Australia. I have both exhibited and produced books of my work with my latest crowdfunded publication, “New England High Country – Contrast and Colour”, proving to be very popular. I also enjoy photographing local drama and musical productions, photographing while travelling around Australia and teaching photography. My current project, “New England High Country 100 Photographers”, is to crowdfund and publish a book of local photography taken by many different photographers.
