Über das Buch
"My art is a continuous creative search for raw authenticity in urban environments and human forms that are constantly changing. Individuals change as they experience life and cities develop and/or decay through time. People and places have history and experience. Cities are weathered by time and through use, taking on a personality of their own from the people and the elements that have interacted with them. It is a combination of all of these factors that creates authenticity. After working for over 20 years in black and white I've discovered that I am not color blind. I like to think that the addition of color in these works will add another dimension. Transitioning from print to painting is liberating. It is spontaneous and irresponsible. Stepping away from etching felt like getting out of a long-committed relationship while enjoying a string of quick, passionate affairs with every new image. My work is still about globalization. The main difference is that now I respond to the mood of the environments I find myself in rather than the analytical interpretation. I'm basically a storyteller. Particular things trigger my attention. I study them closer and deliver the results of my investigations with people who share my curiosity. If I'm accurate with my depiction of the subjects, the stories are not only about what things look like, but also what they feel like." - Michael Goro
