Über das Buch
The information in this booklet documents the impact of the programs offered through the Extended Services department at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital in Chicago, IL, as seen through the eyes of the participants.
Photovoice, which was developed by Caroline Wang1, empowers people from marginalized communities to describe a situation or answer a research question by taking photographs. Participants then describe the pictures using their own words. As a result, participants become leaders by fulfilling roles as data collectors and analysts.
In 2008, 19 individuals with disabilities used photography to answer the question: How has being a part of Extended Services impacted your life? Themes emerged and were agreed upon by the group. This book is the result of the study.
