My interest is in the layers of experiences lived and marks left within a city. The walls and buildings of Manchester show the history of the place and the people who have lived within it.



Each element that I have picked up within my photographs shows the ways that Manchester is pieced together in a changing city. The new city being built within Manchester is a city of glass which will never show the imprints of human physical experience.



Over the past few years Manchester has been growing and at the same time been taken apart. I have used the city and surrounding areas as the basis of my work to find the form, colour and associations that exist within the details that make up the area.

Though in some instances the images border on abstract the elements they are made up of are without doubt representative of the city in which I live.
