Über das Buch
Coach Guthenberg of PS 122 arranged for the New York Islanders' mascot Sparky to pay a visit to Astoria's PS 122 on February 12, 2009.
The teachers and kids pitched in and covered the walls with great posters and decorated the stage with colorful hand painted banners created under the talented eye of Mr. Kautz.
The theme of Sparky's visit was "Team Spirit" and what it takes to make a winning combination, whether it's a National League hockey team or a big city public school. The kids were treated to a movie and a goalie dressing contest. Guess who's faster than a 5th grader?? You'll have to look at the book to find out!
Sparky won everyone's hearts with his energy and enthusiasm and had the whole assembly room rocking like Nassau Coliseum!
Enjoy the pictures.
