Über das Buch
A short book of 16 poems inspired by my husband, my Mother, and my photographs, this is a snippet, a burst, a chortle, a roar, a snap-word-shot of a moment.
The poems were written on two days (March 1st & 2nd, 2009) after a raw and impassioned lovers quarrel. They helped me rip out my sadness.
The photos were taken between the years 1998-2007 on my digital camera that I bought in Korea, but the photos are of NYC streets, subways, parks, life.
The moon unbuckled
All harnesses and off it soared,
Leaving the earth behind
To bemoan the loss.
The boat remained
Tied to it's dock, not even allowed
To rock in the waves
For fear that it, too,
Might magically wrangle free
Of its knots and commitments
To sail down the mythic river,
Chasing after the moon.
Me, I wasn't sure whether to be
Moon or boat, and in the end,
I was neither...
