Über das Buch
These are the memoirs of Gordon Buck Sr. He was born in Decatur, Alabama and wrote of his childhood there. He served in WWII in and around the Panama Canal as a technician during the early development of radar. He helped install the SCR-270 radar systems in places such as Taboga, Coiba, Quito, Victoria and the Galapagos Islands. After WWII, he returned to Decatur but eventually moved to Biloxi, Mississippi where he was a radar instructor at Keesler Air Force Base. He was very active in the St. Martin community and especially the Lions Club where he was named a Melvin Jones Fellow.
