This book is a collection of some of my favorite "stand alone" images from the past four years of shooting nudes in the landscape at various sites around the country. I use the words "stand alone" because I usually shoot with an eye to a theme, dance, or story, using an improvisational approach to working with models. However, in spite of the movement that is inherent in my approach, individual images often emerge that deserve to be seen and appreciated on their own merits. In a previous publication, I attempted to articulate my particular approach to the nude in the landscape and to share some of the stories which came from working in this way. The photos in this book are somewhat more traditional in nature but hopefully still manage to avoid the stereotypes of soft porn and fine art wannabe images which pervade the field. For the sake of some kind of organization I have arranged the images according to the primary landscape features (rocks, trees, water) rather than date or place.
