This book is a collection of articles, by former Singaporean journalist Jane Chew, that first appeared in the 1980s in a regular column of Singapore's English-language newspaper, the Straits Times. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s Jane worked as a journalist, writer and editor for various publications in Singapore including the women's magazine Her World, the tourist magazine Lion City, and the mainstream newspapers New Nation and the Straits Times. In 1991 she and her husband, Sam Liew, published a cookbook of Singaporean and Malaysian recipes, Chew On This. From 1996 to 2009 she worked in the advertising department of the Denver Post in Denver, Colorado and was awarded the Denver Posts' Excellence in Advertising award in 2003. She is now retired and contemplating her next creative endeavor.
