If someone looks through rose tinted glasses, they see only the pleasant parts of it. Much like how we remember someone once they have passed away, the pleasant part of their lives are the ones we remember vividly.



Rose tinted glasses is a book made up of a series of photographs taken with a macro lens. The subjects in the photographs are eye glasses lenses from the early 1900's. On each of the envelopes that contain the lenses, the company name ' Youngstown Optical Company' is printed. This originates back to the early 1900's in Ohio. The lenses were originally won as part of a large lot from a warehouse auction, which was soon after torn down.



Belonging and mystery are key themes in my work and I find it fascinating why certain objects come into our hands and the journey they make to get there.
