"A Walk Through the New Mexico State Penitentiary" is a photoessay about the abandoned jail and its gatekeeper.



The New Mexico State Penitentiary closed in 1998. Today, one guard remains; Rick LaMonda. During his twenty-plus years at the prison, LaMonda experienced its violent history. Now, he opens the decaying building for film crews and photographers.
