This book pays tribute to the extraordinarily talented artists and illustrators who were commissioned to produce travel posters for the rail companies in the early 20th century, that were designed to entice holidaymakers to go by train to the beauty spots and coastal resorts within the British Isles. To achieve this, Patrick has created painterly or graphic compositions from his library of landscape images before adding carefully selected letter forms and then enhancing them with the strategic use of coloured framing elements.
