Über das Buch
On Boxing Day 2004 Mike and Jacqui were enjoying a holiday on the island of Sri Lanka when it was struck by the most devastating tsunami in history. Hundreds of thousands lost their lives.
Those who survived, had their lives changed for ever. This is the story of the changes that it made to Mike and Jackie and the small difference they tried to make for others.
Covering an 18 month period following the tsunami, this book covers the work of the authors and hundreds of international volunteers. It recognises the invaluable contribution of the Tsunami Volunteer Centre to the recovery of the communities in the Khao Lak area of South Thailand. It is a record of the indomitable spirit of the remakable people of this wonderful land.

Über den Autor
Mike & Jacqui Hooley
Truro, Cornwall, UK
Mike & Jacqui were married in 1999 having both lost their previous marital partners. This coincided with the time that their children left home and the dog ran away. This meant that they had the time and disposable income to do things that they had never managed when younger. Travel was one of these things. Having only travelled as far as Europe in earlier days, the world suddenly beckoned. After a honeymoon in Thailand, the travel-bug bit and now they are trying to make up for lost time. Having been caught up in the Asian tsunami of 2004, the next two years holidays were spent working as volunteers for a month at a time, back in Thailand.
