Lawrence Kauten of the Oran, Iowa and Barbara Mihm of St. Lucas, Iowa were married on June 4th 1935 in St. Lucas, Iowa. They raised their family of 4 boys and 7 girls in Stanley, Iowa until 1950 when they moved to a farm near Fayette, Iowa. The descendents of German and Luxembourg/Belgium immigrants, Lawrence and Barbara built a strong legacy of hardwork, piety, modesty, sacrifice and unselfishness.
