Spirit of Place is a collection of paintings, with accompanying text, of the beatiful, atmospheric ruins of Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire, England. A World Heritage site, Fountains is the most complete survival of Yorkshire's many abbeys and the most beautiful. Ian Scott Massie created the pictures for an exhibition at Fountains Hall in 2009.
