Über das Buch
of water and sky - a dramatic view. Far away, invisible and almost unimaginable,
lies Nova Scotia… Both lands sharing similar landscapes and lifestyles, beautiful and difficult.
The Isles of Lewis and Harris are places of great opportunity for nature lovers to be immersed and consumed by the magnitude of the natural environment - To see the unusual beauty of broad horizons, simplicity of hill lines, rich and colourful textures, shapes of stones and minimal, yet sprawling, flora. The people and animals who live here are integrated into this stunning and harsh environment. They are tough, as they must be, in order to survive, subsist and be part of this land. a constantly changing contrast between light and shadow, and dynamic weather,
all resulted in the collection of many interesting photographs.
Ten days spent on the two islands gave me not only the opportunity to see and capture
these natural wonders, but also the opportunity to now share my visual observations
and emotions with my viewers. The locations covered are in no way exhaustive or complete,
but I hope that this book can at least serve as a brief introduction, and furthermore,
an encouragement to visit and explore more!
In every approach to make great art one must reduce and rejec
