Über das Buch
Through about 6,000 submitted photographs, we are presented with an explicit image of the world: a close world, a distant world, a familiar world, a strange world. The black and white photographs introduce a range of places: sidewalks, atriums of the buildings, train stations and carriages, escalators, parks and gardens, cafes, museums... but these are only sceneries.
What distinguishes every photograph, each one of the 50 exhibited and the 150 projected is the presence of humans: alone or together, in groups and among crowds, resting, working, playing, eating, reading, praying , dancing, sleeping...
Intuous summers and winters, wealth and poverty, joys and sorrows, solitudes and shares. The stillness, the frozen movements, interrupted, suspended in time.
The silence and the discretion of the mobile devices allow the invisibility of the photographer that favors the captured moment without disturbing it: a kiss, a sleep, a cry, an accomplice look, a yell...
Every photograph is the evidence. It is a clue to a story which is not simply told to us but the one we are seduced imagine. It is a persistent invitation to a childhood inducement: tell me a story. A story that happens in the world with so many worlds inside. In black and white.
