The course explores the complexities, innovations, and magnificence of two centuries

of Italian Renaissance history through its visual production.

The goal is to challenge the established understanding of

the Renaissance as a cohesive

homogenous phenomenon,

and search for and construct

our notion of an aesthetic

language and identity.
