Über den Autor
Dave Bird is a Devon based photographer who enjoys the challenges and rewards of working in both the street photography and social documentary traditions. He attributes his ongoing photographic education to a keen appreciation of the photo-books produced by the masters of these genres and to the networking opportunities in street photography provided by the photo-sharing site Flickr. Dave's own work strives to capture those qualities of street photography that Joel Meyerowitz has described as authenticity, rigour and playfulness; impetus driven by the human drama, the curious instinct, the surreal in the everyday and the decisive moment within the endless flow of daily activity. At the same time his interest lies in creating a personal documentary view of some of the towns and cities, festivals, traditions, events and celebrations that reflect contemporary life in the South West of England and also in some of the more distant places that he is lucky enough to visit as a tourist.
