In the summer of 2007 my wife, Susan, and I returned to South Africa for the second time. When we went to Africa for the first time in 1999 we were hooked and promised ourselves we would return. In 1999 we were in Zimbabwe for one week and South Africa for two weeks but only stayed in Kruger for 5 days. This time we stayed in Kruger for 19 days.



We saw the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffalo) on the first day. We saw more than we ever expected. Being a photographer and writer with a degree in Biology, Africa is the ideal place to bring it all together.

Spence retired as a Vice President of an electric uitlity in 2003. He has a degree in biology from Florida State University. He developed a love of photography and a desire to travel when he was still in grade school. He has traveled to over 25 countries and throughout North America. He is planning to publish books on more of his travels in the near future.
