Über das Buch
Just another travel tourist book. But it has some content around the return journey we made to a small town in Japan some 17 years later. We made a book of an exhibition of photographs of Shiida town and gave it to the mayor as a thank you for being part of the ongoing photographic project. But we also travelled thousands of kms from north to south via a 21 day JR rail pass.

Allan has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally in France, United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, China & New Zealand. Allan researches the possibilities for photography to explore identity both nationally and internationally and constructs journey like montages that may stretch to sixty meters in length. He has worked on collaborative projects with the Song Company, a national touring organization, and the Melbourne Recital Centre providing images that accompany musical performances. Dr Allan Chawner is a Conjoint Professor in Photomedia/Fine Art at the University of Newcastle, Australia.
