This is a collection of images taken in and around the town of Portsmouth, NH over a period of several years. Several of them have appeared in other photography publications of mine and are shown here in a slightly different context, or simply because they are among my favorites. Many were shot on Peirce (sic) Island and in New Castle, the latter a separate town, but for all intents and purposes part of Portsmouth (without the tax bite). As you'll see, the seacoast area—despite its compact size—is a dynamic, scenic, and historic place made even more interesting by its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and its multiple inlets and waterways.
