Über das Buch
Inspired by the Biblical account of the birth of Christ as recorded in the 2nd chapter of Luke, The Smallest Shepherd is the story of Joshua, a seven year old shepherd boy. After being visited in a field by a host of angels, Joshua is left alone to watch over the sheep while his older brothers go into Bethlehem to find and worship the Christ Child. The adventure that follows is a heartwarming account of what could have happened on that very first Christmas night.
The Smallest Shepherd however, is much more than just an entertaining children's story. A special section for parents and teachers in the back of the book reveals the interwoven symbolism within the story (which is footnoted for Biblical reference) and explains how they can use this symbolism to share God's plan of salvation in a way that young hearts and minds can easily comprehend.
