Über das Buch
They are no representative of the city and they are not the kind of pictures that can easily fit in a travel guide. Without a doubt they will probably be misleading. It is more of a personal documentary of the people and the city of Lisbon. I have focus my attention mostly on scenes that relate with the idea of transfer and movement and their opposites, rigidness and immobility.
On this quest I had as emotional guides, the poetry of Fernando Pessoa and the songs of Fado. The sadness that may imbue the pictures is not to be attributed to the people or the place but rather to my seeing. I cannot find better words to describe this, than Pessoa’s very own.
“What we see, is not made up of what we are seeing but of what we are”.

Über den Autor
Hi, I am a street photographer and freelancer for reportage, editorial, travel and wedding based in Zakynthos, Greece. I studied sociology and documentary photography. I’m passionate about all arts and for thinking creatively. Photography is my obsession along with photo-book collecting and printing. My photos have been published in Greek and foreign magazines, book covers and on-line venues. In 2012 I took part in the Athens PhFest with a solo exhibition of my series "Off-Season". Also in the same year my book "A sense of place" was published, featuring b&w photographs of my native island seen through the oblique perspective of a street-life photographer. I am a founding member of the international photography collective Burn My Eye and contributing photographer of Millennium photo agency. What I strive to achieve is the making of an imaginary world, where even the most prosaic situations can acquire a mysterious nuance and a meaning different from the one that they carry in reality.
