Über das Buch
instant karma(ra) has been conceived as a "magazine in a day" taking it's title in part from John Lennon's single that was written and recorded on the 27th January 1970 and released 10 days later.
For this issue 18 students from across all three years of the BA(Hons) Photography course at Sheffield Hallam University have responded to the theme of 'the everyday'.
Contributors met at 9.30am on the morning of the 3rd November 2009 to discuss and develop ideas before photographing, processing, editing and laying out the resulting images and creating a book using an on-line service by the end of the day. The book was originally published in an edition of 20 on November 4th 2009 and this public version released on November 23rd includes minor corrections and adjustments.
The project, conceived and led by Andrew Robinson, explores the potential of on-line, on-demand publishing for instant collaborative production.
