When I moved from hospital medicine into general practice, I discovered that there was much more to consulting and being with patients than just the science that I had learned. I embarked on a whole new journey of finding ways to encourage health and healing as well as diagnosing and treating disease. In my role as medical educator, I wanted to offer students the opportunity to engage with the "art of medcine" at a much earlier stage than I myself had. The underlying aim of using creativity and reflection in medical education is to facilitate learning in the domains of intuition, self-awareness, interpretation, expression etc. In response to the invitation to produce a creative piece, medical students have astounded me with their talent and sensitivity.
